Albumin finds numerous applications including: as a solvent and stabilizer of biologically sensitive high-molecular compounds such as enzymes and growth factors, as carrier protein during antibody production, as blocking agent for ELISA assay, and as secondary reference standard for determination of molecular weight, amino acid, and nitrogen content.
