This is a type of serine protease inhibitors that inhibit trypsin, chymotrypsin, kallikrein and plasmin, etc. It is a basic polypeptide about 6500 in molecular weight and has S-S cross-links at 3 sites in the molecule. It is used as an inhibitor of blood coagulation and fibrin. Its inhibitory effect is negligible for thrombin but remarkable for trypsin, plasmin, plasma and tissue kallikreins allowing its use in researches on protease inhibitors and blood coagulation system.
This product has been purified from cows produced in New Zealand.
