Fibronectin is a major glycoprotein composing extracellular matrix and consists of dimers of polypeptide about 250 k in molecular weight. In a culture system, it adheres mainly to fibroblasts, hepatocytes, nerve cells, etc. It is recognized by integrin, which is a specific receptor on the cell surface, involved in cell migration and acceleration of phagocytosis in addition to cell adhesion and, furthermore, is functioning on the spot of tissue injury. This product has been purified from bovine plasma produced in New Zealand.
