This product is a phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase 1 (PDK1) activator. It binds to HM/PIF binding pocket instead of ATP binding site of PDK1. It has been reported that reprogramming efficiency in the establishment of iPS cells from neonatal human epithelial keratinocytes (NHEKs) using 2 factors, Oct4 and Klf4, is accelerated 15 folds by the addition of this product and 25 folds by the addition of this product and sodium acetate.
