Laminins are members of the extracellular matrix that are present in the basal lamina of animals and are known to be closely associated with cell adhesion and proliferation. This product is a recombinant protein that has the same sequence as laminin 511-E8 fragment and is a culture substrate that can facilitate the adhesion and spreading of various types of cells. A collaboration of Osaka University and Kyoto University demonstrated that the product allows safe and highly-efficient culture of human iPS cells and human ES cells, which were considered to be very difficult to handle.
