This product includes a ceramide, a type of sphingolipid, in the backbone and many methods of selective staining of the Golgi apparatus with this product has been reported. In addition, it forms an excimer with wavelength shift from 510 nm (green) to 620 nm (red) when applied at higher concentrations. Therefore, caution must be taken when measuring with a multifluorescent filter.
The measured wavelengths are: λex = 505 nm, λem = 511 nm.
