This product is a hydrochloride salt of amyloid beta protein (1-40) (A beta 40) constituting senile plaque, a lesion specific to Alzheimer's disease. It is considered that A beta 40 is neuronotoxic when it is in the beta sheet structure and induces atrophy of nerve cells and it has been reported that the product is liable to take this beta sheet structure when it is a hydrochloride.
